Tree of Life

Tree of Life
Our place of searching comes with no name. Behind the branches a ritual becomes visible in the thin rays of light. The place is like a hidden mirror, showing us our sense of fear, fear of the unknown that comes to us under the pines during twilight.
The woman in the forest gravitates towards the trees pulsating with life. Turning towards the light that flickers on her collar bone and neck, her feet deeply grounded into the earth. She is the living tree – all that we want to own but can not. She is her own virgin and the seed in all that is living.
Through her triptychs, Tree of Life, Ewa-Mari Johansson guides our senses to the place where we experience life. In parafrasing the triptychs of the altar she delivers a representation of the religious experience needed in our time.
How can the sense of origin be represented? If we relate to all living, we no longer need to separate ourselves from nature. We can renegotiate our obsession of consumption before it is too late.
