Soff-o-tyg The Couches new Life

The Couches new life
The over consumption of today’s population
A drive through Culver City is like looking at the inside to the homes at first, and then on the sidewalk, the used sofas are lined up in front of the driveways.
One may wonder if it is not an installation that wants to tell us about the short way from the car seat to the TV sofa. In this space, the question arises which is the real exhibition SOFFOTYG – The Couches new life. The replaced sofas give an idea of what the owner has consumed.

The Sofa/Abandoned consumer carcasses
The Sofa/Abandoned consumer carcasses exhibition shows 18 photographs of sofas in a street environment in Culver City, Los Angeles. Anyone who sits down on the sofa in front of the art video can join a journey that begins with a fine sofa accompanied by deep breaths from someone who has fallen asleep. In the background, the sounds from TV are going on and a garbage truck pulls past on the street – the journey ends with the sofa being consumed, and then recycled when it is picked up at new sofa owners with pillows and everything.
