Black on White
Birth have very strong personal ties to myself, it is a kind of self-portrait.
It is the result of a long studie of trying to create a very different kind of photographic language of nude studies such as exploring the strength of the female body and seeking the soul that hides in a person’s expression.
I have been a topmodel and been in many photos inspired by the 40’s pin-up pictures with the typical S-curve and also as a photographer I have photographed a number of photos with the S-curve after advertising layouts.
With this background, I began to create a new forms in my photography.
In the 1970s a worked as an assistant tophotographer Franco Rubartelli and the model of 1960s and 1070s Veruschka made movie where she painted her body in order to become part of the surronding environment.
It made a big impression on me, therefore, body painting became something I wanted to include in my search for the image that could reflect the strength of the woman and the power that we women have. To evoke a sense of yin o yang.
I turn to the symbolism of yin o yang and want to show a different picture of the primordial forces of the universe in Black on White. Depicting the primordial forces of the Universe also reflects in my photo serie Itinerarium of St. Francis “Canticle Brother Sun and Sister Moon.
